According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Maryam Ameri, a citizen of Ahvaz, was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location.

Ms. Ameri is said to have been arrested by agents of the Ahvaz Intelligence Department. However, at the time of writing this report, there is no information available about the reasons for the arrest, the charges brought against her, or where she is being held.

Yesterday, HRANA also reported on the arrest of Fatemeh Tamimi, a citizen of Chamran city, which is part of Bandar Mahshahr county.

According to an informed source, Ms. Ameri is a close friend of Fatima Tamimi, with whom they collected stories, lullabies, and songs in Arabic to record the oral history of each village.

Maryam Ameri is a single citizen from Ahvaz.
