Three Young Iranians Named in TIME Magazine’s List of 100 Most Influential Figures of the Year

Three young Iranians have been named in TIME magazine’s “TIME 100” list as influential figures of the year.
“TIME 100” is an annual list in which TIME magazine selects and publishes the names of 100 influential figures from around the world, a practice that began in 2004. The list was first published in 1999 when TIME introduced 100 influential figures of the 21st century. Due to its popularity, the magazine decided in 2004 to publish it as an annual feature.
This list is published exactly once a year, featuring the names of 100 people who have been highly influential worldwide during that year.
TIME magazine has now followed its annual tradition and introduced this year’s 100 most prominent and influential figures. In its list, the magazine mentioned three young Iranians, which may be unprecedented. “Shervin Hajipour,” “Niloofar Hamedi,” and “Elaha Mohammadi” are young individuals whom TIME magazine recognized as influential figures of 2023 and included in this list.
Shervin Hajipour, an Iranian singer who won a Grammy Award for his song “Baraye,” was listed in the “Artists” section of the list, while Niloofar Hamedi and Elaha Mohammadi, journalists who were detained, were listed in the “Pioneers” section.
