US sanctions 5 individuals and 5 companies "in connection with IRGC missile program"

The US Treasury Department has sanctioned two networks linked to the government and the Revolutionary Guard for sending equipment to Iran. The department's announcement states that these individuals and companies purchased equipment for the manufacture of missiles and provided it to Iran.
The US Treasury Department announced on Wednesday, August 28, that it was imposing sanctions on five individuals and five companies linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The US Treasury Department's announcement states that an IRGC communications network and a Hong Kong company managed by an individual named Hamed Dehghan attempted to provide technology and equipment to the IRGC and the Iranian government by circumventing sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
The announcement stated that Hamed Dehghan was working in connection with a front company and intended to purchase tens of millions of dollars in parts and equipment used in the manufacture of missiles.
The United States is freezing the assets of companies that circumvent its sanctions on Iran. The assets of individuals and companies named in the US Treasury Department announcement are also likely to be subject to these government regulations.
The United States has also banned its citizens from trading with sanctioned companies.
In addition, the United States has also asked foreign financial institutions not to cooperate with sanctioned companies and not to conduct financial transactions for these companies, otherwise they will pay fines.
The US Treasury Department's announcement also named another company managed by an individual named Seyyed Hossein Shariat, which has been involved in supplying aluminum-related equipment to Iran's military. The US Treasury Department also said in its announcement that these companies were sanctioned for providing technology, components, and raw materials used in Iran's nuclear program.
The companies "Asr Sanat Eshraq", "Ibatkar Sanat Iliad", "Green Industry Hong Kong", "Pishtazan Kavshgostar Bushra", and "Shafq Sanabor Yazd" are on the list of new US sanctioned companies.
The US Treasury Department has previously imposed sanctions on Iranian individuals and companies, but this time the sanctions were imposed immediately after there was talk of a possible meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Iranian counterpart.
On Tuesday, August 27, the German news agency (dpa) published a report from Biarritz, the venue for the G7 summit, announcing Trump's readiness to meet with Rouhani in the coming weeks.
The news agency also referred to this possible meeting as a "historic meeting" and quoted Trump as saying that he was also optimistic about Iranian officials' willingness to hold the meeting.
Trump emphasized in his press conference that he would agree to meet with Rouhani if the conditions were right.
But not long after these statements, five Iranian companies and five individuals were sanctioned by the United States in connection with the IRGC's missile programs.
