Dismissal of Behrouz Chamanara from the faculty of the University of Kurdistan

Behrouz Chamanara announced his disqualification and dismissal from the faculty of the University of Kurdistan by publishing an article.

Behrouz Chamanara was a professor in the Kurdish Language and Literature Department and a member of the faculty of the University of Kurdistan, whose disqualification and dismissal has now made headlines.

Following the removal of expert and experienced professors from universities and their replacement with non-experts, there has been a widespread reaction among faculty members, students, and various segments of the population inside and outside the country. Professor Behrouz Chamanara, one of the top professors in the language department, also published material regarding his disqualification on the orders of the "Provincial General Information Department".

He wrote a letter to the president of the University of Kurdistan, stating: "Now, while the selection of the new semester's unit begins, not only is there no meaningful sign of deliberation on the part of your Excellency and the relevant administrators, but in an action that seems to have been planned and coordinated, on the one hand, with the coordination of the university's security department, a written letter was issued by the "Provincial General Intelligence Department" stating my general disqualification to continue serving as a faculty member of the university and was communicated to me by phone, and on the other hand, my name has been included and published in similar lists under the name "expelled professors" in biased media affiliated with power institutions."

The dismissal, suspension, and ban on teaching of university professors was unexpected and against the wishes of the professors in question. Even the reason for their dismissal, which were professors with long teaching experience, is not clear.

لازم به ذکر است استاد چمن‌آرا مورخ 5 آذر 1401 به دلیل قرائت بیانیه اساتید دانشگاه کردستان در اعتراض به سرکوب و بازداشت دانشجویان در سنندج بازداشت شد که سپس با تودیع وثیقه آزاد شد.

به گزارش خبرگزاری هرانا، تاکنون 25 نفر از اساتیدی که در جریان اعتراضات سراسری با مردم همراه بوده و اکنون از دانشگاه اخراج، تعلیق و یا ممنوع‌التدریس هستند، شناسایی شده‌اند.
