New Year 2024 celebrations in the Armenian neighborhood of Jolfa

Christian citizens gathered at Vank Church to celebrate New Year's Eve in the Armenian neighborhood of Jolfa.

Vank Church is one of the historical Armenian churches in the Jolfa neighborhood of Isfahan. The church was built during the reign of Shah Abbas II and was named Vank, which means "monastery" in Armenian.
Every year, on the eve of Christmas and the beginning of the New Year, the Jolfa neighborhood of Isfahan takes on a special appearance, color, and smell. During Christmas and the beginning of the New Year, this area welcomes many Armenians and tourists who go to Vank Church.
Last Sunday night, December 31, 2023, coincident with the beginning of the New Year, the Jolfa area and Vank Church welcomed many guests. Christians and even many Muslim people gathered in this area and celebrated the beginning of the New Year.
Photos posted on social media indicate the presence of many people in the area.
