Benjamin Netanyahu: The Iranian regime is a threat to the existence of Israel and the fate of all humanity

Benjamin Netanyahu considered the Iranian regime's acquisition of nuclear weapons a threat to the existence of Israel and all of humanity.

Israeli Prime Minister Yamin Netanyahu, speaking at the Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem, warned against the Islamic Republic acquiring nuclear weapons, calling it a major threat to the fate of all humanity. He said: "We will fight with force against extremist regimes that threaten the entire world and the existence of Israel, and this is the main lesson of the Holocaust."

The Holocaust, or "Shoah" in Hebrew, refers to the mass murder and genocide of approximately six million European Jews based on race, religion, and nationality during World War II by Nazi Germany, which occurred from 1941 to the end of 1945. These killings were organized in a way that included mass shootings, forced labor in Nazi German concentration camps, vans, and gas chambers, including Auschwitz, Majdanek, Chelmno, Treblinka, and Belzec, which resulted in the killing of approximately two-thirds of the Jewish population of Europe in this event. Nazi Germany persecuted and murdered Jews in several stages.

European Jews were not the only ones targeted during the Holocaust, but non-Jewish Poles, Soviet civilians and prisoners of war, Gypsies, the disabled, political and religious opponents, and homosexuals were also killed by the Nazi regime. International Holocaust Remembrance Day is January 27, but it is also commemorated in April or May each year, according to the Jewish calendar.

At the Holocaust Memorial Ceremony, Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his concern that the fate of all humanity and another Holocaust would be at risk if the Iranian regime obtained nuclear weapons. He said at the ceremony: “The Iranian regime is a threat to our fate, to our existence, and to the fate of all humanity.”

He also added, regarding the defense of his country: "No one can stop us from defending ourselves. If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone. If we have to fight with our fingernails, we will fight, but we will not back down."

"If we lose this battle, Western countries will be the next target. Israel will not lose, it will not surrender, and it will not retreat."

Netanyahu's concerns and statements at the Holocaust memorial ceremony and reference to the Islamic Republic's nuclear weapons came at a time when the United States and the Islamic Republic are negotiating over Iran's nuclear program. Iran has repeatedly stressed that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only, but these statements, along with its enrichment of uranium to 60 percent, are in stark contrast to the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.

Netanyahu has also repeatedly promised that he will not allow the Islamic Republic to obtain nuclear weapons. US President Donald Trump has also warned that he will bomb Iran if it refuses to sign a nuclear deal with the US.
