More than one million people live in marginalized areas in the four cities of Zabol, Zahedan, Chabahar, and Iranshahr in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
Meanwhile, the city of Chabahar ranks first in terms of slums in the country. According to ISNA news agency, 60 percent of the population of this port lives on 330 hectares of land on the outskirts of the city, according to officials.
According to the latest statistics, Iranshahr has a population of 120,000 people, and more than 60 percent of this population lives in marginalized areas and informal settlements without electricity, water, health care, schools, and other amenities.
