Retirees' rally in Tehran met with police violence for the second consecutive day

Continuing their protests, retirees gathered in front of the Planning and Budget Organization in Tehran for the second consecutive day.

A group of cultural retirees in Iran held a protest rally in front of the Planning and Budget Organization in Tehran for the second consecutive day on Sunday, August 26, to protest their living conditions and the failure to meet their demands.

 

The pensioners are protesting the lack of their retirement benefits. The protesters say their problems are not new and they have been demanding an address for about 10 months.

Published images indicate that the rally was accompanied by police violence.

These gatherings, which have become more intense since late 2018, have continued in recent months.

Protests by various groups in Iran, including retirees, have increased while the number of economic corruption cases, some of which involve well-known officials and individuals, has increased in Iran.
