The world records the "highest" number of COVID-19 cases in a single day

The World Health Organization says that in the 24 hours leading up to the first day of June, the highest number of cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic were reported to the organization from various countries around the world.
According to the organization, 106,000 cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, have been reported in the past 24 hours.
Of course, the World Health Organization is not able to verify the statistics and only reflects what is provided by official authorities or relevant institutions in countries. However, the past 24 hours have seen the highest official numbers recorded worldwide.
The UN agency says nearly two-thirds of reported cases come from four countries, although its director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, did not name the four countries during a news conference on Wednesday.
Currently, the largest number of cases, recorded or reported by Johns Hopkins University in the United States, are in four countries: the United States, Russia, Brazil, and the United Kingdom; data from the World Health Organization also indicates that these four countries are at the top of the recorded cases of COVID-19.
Another issue that has been re-warned is the increasing number of cases in developing and poor countries, although many countries in Europe, East Asia, and other regions are easing travel restrictions and regulations.
The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide has reached five million, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. (Latest update at 10 a.m. Tehran time)
Dr. Mike Ryan, director of the World Health Organization's emergencies program, had previously described reaching five million cases as a "tragic leap" in a conversation with reporters.
Tedros added, "We have a long road ahead of us," adding, "We are deeply concerned about the increasing number of cases in low- and middle-income countries."
While the number of patients seen in countries like India is on an increasing trend, in some Latin American countries like Peru, Mexico, or Chile, more than two thousand cases have been recorded per day for nearly a week.
