533 cases of child abuse recorded in Mazandaran

Statistics from the Mazandaran Provincial Welfare Organization show that in the first six months of this year, 533 calls related to child abuse were made to the social emergency number 123 located in the provincial center, of which 305 were related to girls and 228 were related to abuse of boys.

The deputy head of social affairs for Mazandaran's welfare department said in this regard: "Of the 553 incidents of child abuse that have been recorded in the entire province, 231 were physical, 44 were sexual, 43 were psychological, 203 were neglectful, and 12 children were subjected to combined abuse. In all of these cases, except for combined abuse, the number of girls is higher than that of boys."
