Last night, all eyes were on the "supermoon."

Last night, the inhabitants of the Earth looked up to the sky, because after 68 years, the sky displayed the moon in its largest and most beautiful form.

Although the air in Tehran and several major cities in the country has been in very polluted conditions in recent days, and forecasts indicate that the situation will continue until the end of this week, seeing the "supermoon" phenomenon in its brightest state in the past 7 decades is not an issue that can be easily ignored.
A supermoon is a full moon that coincides with perigee, the moon's closest distance to Earth.
According to ISNA, citing Space, in this rare event, which will not be visible for another 18 years, the moon reached a distance of 356,506 kilometers from the planet, and therefore, NASA has called it an extraordinary "supermoon."
This phenomenon, in which the moon was 14 percent larger than normal, previously occurred in 1948 and the next opportunity to observe it will be on November 25, 2034.
The size difference between the supermoon and other full moons is 14 percent larger, and you can see this difference in these images.
