Let's just say that revenge is certain, just wait a little!

Kayhan newspaper reported in an article about the possibility of widespread revenge against Israel.

Last week, on April 4, following airstrikes on the Iranian consulate building next to the country's embassy in Damascus, the building was completely destroyed and seven members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including two commanders, were killed.

One of the commanders killed in the attacks was Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the top commander of the Quds Force and the foreign operations arm of the IRGC, and his deputy, Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi. Mohammad Reza Zahedi was the only non-Lebanese member of Hezbollah’s eight-member Council of Advisors, the equivalent of the group’s political bureau.

Tehran and Damascus blamed Israel for the attack, but Israel has not yet officially claimed responsibility. In his speech on Monday, April 8, Hassan Nasrallah paid tribute to Mohammad Reza Zahedi and his colleagues who were killed in the attack, saying: "Responding to Israel is Iran's natural right, and Tel Avir must wait. Israel and the United States know this."

Iranian officials hold Israel responsible for these attacks. Kayhan newspaper also wrote in a note: "This revenge should not be delayed. The later, the harder it is. Perhaps to understand this issue, it is better to look at the issue from the perspective of those officials who are in charge of the relevant affairs. They are certainly more knowledgeable than you and me and any expert far from the depths, and they know the ins and outs of the matter better. Some believe that immediately after the enemy attacked our country's embassy building in Damascus, Tel Avir and Haifa and its nuclear and military centers should have been targeted with missile and drone attacks, and they were not worried about the consequences. We also know that this spectrum's stance is based on zeal and patriotism, but it is not reasonable; because it is emotional and sentimental, and sentiment fades after a while. But what should be done? Revenge must be taken with certainty, and that too in a surprising and deterrent way. Time is of the essence here, and we have learned that over the past week, they have been meticulously and obsessively examining the situation to find the best way to take revenge. Let me just say that the revenge will be certain, widespread, regrettable, and God willing, deterrent. Just wait a little longer!

It should be noted that the above attacks and the killing of IRGC operatives who were linked to Hezbollah dealt a very severe blow to Iran. The Quds Force is an elite unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that specializes in deploying forces abroad. Established in the early 1980s during the Iran-Iraq War, the Quds Force reports directly to Ali Khamenei. The IRGC’s goal has been to actively spread the revolution around the world.

The name Quds, which the force chose for itself, is Jerusalem, which means "the Holy" in Arabic, and refers to the objectives of the force. The long-term goal of the Quds Force is to conquer and occupy a city that is holy to Jews and Christians, which is why the Quds Force cooperates with anti-Israeli radical Islamist organizations such as Hamas or Lebanon's Hezbollah.

1Ali Khamenei and Ebrahimi Raisi held Israel responsible for the airstrike and threatened Israel with retaliation. Ebrahim Raisi issued a statement declaring that this cowardly crime would not go unanswered.
