Sarkis Davidian: Christians in Iran enjoy social freedoms

Armenian Catholic Bishop Sarkis Davidian spoke about Christians enjoying social freedom in Iran.

Sarkis Davidian, the Armenian Catholic Bishop of Iran, met with the governor of Mazandaran in Noor County on the eve of the New Year. In the meeting, he referred to the freedom of Christians in Iran and said: "We are living freely in Iran, and we should be grateful to the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran for this love. Under the grace of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Armenians are in peace and enjoy social and religious freedoms. Religious minorities in Isfahan and other cities are also living freely."

He stated that he served as the Armenian Catholic Bishop in Iran for eight years on behalf of His Holiness the Pope and that he has good memories of Iran.

The Armenian bishop, while thanking Ali Khamenei for the release of Christians, condemned the Israeli regime's attacks on Gaza and the war that killed thousands of people, adding: "I myself am from Aleppo, Syria. I and other Armenians condemn the evil policies of the great powers."

He also stated about Islam: "Islam is also a religion of peace and tranquility, and this has been stated by the Prophet of Islam and their holy book. Armenians in Iran enjoy all social and religious freedoms. Iran offered its best loved ones, such as General Hajj Qassem Soleimani and the recent martyr Seyyed Razi Mousavi, to create peace and tranquility."

At the end of his speech, Sarkis Davidian prayed for peace and tranquility in the world.
