British Ambassador to Iran: I made no promises to Ali Larijani

British Ambassador to Iran Rob McKer wrote on his Twitter page on Tuesday that he had not met with Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and had certainly not promised anyone assistance in Iran's upcoming elections, because, according to him, British policy is not to interfere in Iran's internal affairs.
This tweet is in response to the publication of an alleged news report about statements made by Mohammad Yazdi, secretary of the Qom Seminary Teachers' Association, at a meeting of the Expediency Discernment Council.
According to this report, Mr. Yazdi said that the British ambassador asked Ali Larijani to assist in passing the FATF bill and in return, receive London's support in the 1400 presidential elections.
