Mysterious disease outbreak in India sends more than 300 people to hospital

Reports indicate that in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, at least 345 people have been hospitalized in a southern Indian state due to a mysterious and unknown illness, and one person has died.

According to reports from Indian newspapers including Hindustan Times and Indian Express, patients with this unknown disease have been taken to hospitals and medical centers with a wide range of symptoms such as seizures, nausea, and coma, and at least one death from this mysterious disease has also been reported.

Hindustan Times, citing local officials, writes that the coronavirus test results of all hospitalized patients have so far been negative, which has fueled the concern of health and public health officials in India.

The city of Iluru in the state of Andhra Pradesh has been declared the epicenter of the outbreak of this mysterious disease.

Some speculate that the disease may have been caused by drinking contaminated water, although the Indian government has claimed that laboratory tests on water samples from affected areas have found no signs of contamination.

India, like many parts of the world, is currently grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The emergence of this unknown disease and the possibility of an increase in the number of patients in such a situation will only add to the challenges for medical centers and doctors.

India has the second-highest number of coronavirus cases in the world after the United States, with more than 140,000 deaths.
