Masoud Pezzekian: The world is looking for artificial intelligence and we are afraid of anyone who wants to speak the truth

Referring to artificial intelligence, MP Masoud Pezzekian said, "We are afraid of someone who speaks the truth, but the world is looking for artificial intelligence."

Masoud Pezzekian, a representative of the people of Tabriz, Azarshahr and Osku in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said about the state of the Internet in the country: "The world is moving towards artificial intelligence and Internet technology, but we are restricting cyberspace, and if we want to act like this, in the not-so-distant future we will create a country that will be far from the advanced world. We always pay attention to the misuse of the Internet, while we should not deprive good people because of people who misuse the Internet."

He pointed out that the aforementioned restrictions only increase people's anxiety and anger, adding: "People use the Internet in any form and restrictions are not effective, while we should always welcome innovations and be at the forefront. Managers who do not take risks and run away from innovations create backward societies and trapped and hungry people."

In response to the question, "Is there a possibility of lifting internet restrictions?", Masoud Pezhakian said, "With the current outlook in the country, I don't think we have the courage to free up cyberspace. People who have an open mind and the necessary thinking to respond to problems can do this. Those who are weak in terms of science and expertise will not allow issues to be raised that question them, and this will prevent them from allowing the space to open up."

Mr. Pezzekian also pointed out the current situation of the people in Iran and their demand for justice, noting: "In the early days of Islam, the only thing tribal leaders did to Prophet Muhammad was not to allow him to speak, but now we are afraid of a few people speaking, and instead of speaking the truth and speaking fairly, we are afraid of someone who wants to speak the truth. Whereas if he speaks the truth and we have problems, then we must correct ourselves, but if he speaks the wrong thing, cyberspace is an opportunity for us to expose them."
