Wage arrears for workers of the Ahvaz urban train project

Workers working on the Ahvaz urban train project announced that the salaries of about 200 workers in the security, warehouse, and facilities departments of the project have been postponed for at least 15 months.
According to HRANA news agency, citing ILNA, workers working on the Ahvaz urban train project are demanding wage arrears.
According to this decree, the current responsibility of these workers since 2012 has been entrusted to the same contracting company that is currently implementing the Ahvaz urban train project, but since yesterday, September 20, the Ahvaz Urban Train Organization has terminated the contract and transferred the responsibility for the construction of the project to the Khatam Al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters.
Apparently, these workers, who currently number 200, have not received their Eid holiday for 2019, in addition to their wages. Their employment status is unknown.
Workers of this construction project stated: The Ahvaz urban train project has been suspended since the last months of 2018, and currently, except for 200 security guards, warehouse workers, and workers who maintain machinery and generators, as well as drain the workshop's water, no other workers are present in the workshop.
According to one of the workers, after several months of wage arrears, the workers held several protest rallies in June of this year, as a result of which some officials promised to address the situation of the remaining urban train workers, but after more than three months, the workers' wage arrears have still not been fully paid.
Stating that the protesters are seeking to collect their demands and clarify their employment status, he added: "The lack of money and the wandering of this number of workers in Ahvaz has created many problems for them and their families."
