77 Iranian Arbaeen pilgrims lost their lives

Hossein Zolfaghari, Iran's deputy interior minister for security and head of the Arbaeen headquarters, announced on Thursday, October 15, that 77 Iranian Arbaeen pilgrims have lost their lives so far this year.
According to ISNA news agency, Hossein Zolfaghari stated that the cause of death for more than half of this number was "traffic accidents."
October 17 is Arbaeen Day, and according to Islamic Republic officials, more than two million people had registered to travel to Iraq and participate in the ceremony.
Iranian officials have referred to the Arbaeen ceremony in the past few years as a "power maneuver" for the Islamic Republic.
This ceremony has gained great importance for the Islamic Republic in recent years and is held annually with extensive planning, mobilization of public facilities, and spending large sums of money.
