Nahid Shirpisheh arrested

HRANA News Agency – Nahid Shirpisheh, the mother of Pouya Bakhtiari, one of the victims of the November 2019 protests, was arrested by security forces on Monday, July 10, and taken to an unknown location.

According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, today, Monday, July 10, 2022, Nahid Shirpisheh, the mother of Pouya Bakhtiari, one of the victims of the November 2019 protests, was arrested by security forces.

Pouya Bakhtiari's sister, by posting a video on her personal page on social media, reported the violence used by security forces during the arrest of Ms. Shirpisheh.

As of the time of writing this report, there is no information available about the reasons for the arrest, the charges brought, or the whereabouts of this citizen.

Ms. Shirpisheh has previously been arrested by security agencies due to her civic activities.

Manouchehr Bakhtiari, Pouya Bakhtiari's father, is currently serving his sentence in Karaj Central Penitentiary .

Nahid Shirpisheh, the mother of Pouya Bakhtiari (born September 9, 1992 – died November 15, 2019 in Mehrshahr, Karaj), was one of the victims of the nationwide protests of 2019 in Iran.
