Christians killed and injured in Myanmar army airstrike

An airstrike by the Myanmar military in the Indian border region killed and injured Christian civilians in a church.
According to the MMN news agency, a Myanmar military fighter jet bombed a village near its border with India that is held by the opposition. The village was attacked by the Myanmar military with four large bombs.
Myanmar military jets attacked the village on Sunday, January 14, and one of the bombs hit a church in the village. Christians were holding a church service on Sunday when a bomb hit the church building, killing and injuring some of the attendees.
According to published reports, at least 9 children and 11 adults were killed and about 20 others were injured when a bomb hit the church building. Survivors of the attacks were worried and terrified by the Myanmar military attack and prayed for an end to the attacks.
Church leaders in Myanmar have previously called for an end to the war and violence against religious sites in the country, but the Myanmar military has been intent on overthrowing the country's civilian leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, ending democracy and suppressing dissent for the past three years. Sunday's attacks were carried out to fulfill their pre-determined agenda.
