Strike in Paveh Bazaar to protest the killing and wounding of 9 Kolbars

Reports from Kurdistan Province indicate that bazaars in the city of Paveh have gone on strike to protest the killing of two Kolbars and the injury of seven other Kolbars by the border forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, the Nosud Border Regiment forces in Paveh County opened fire on a number of Kolbars on Sunday, February 17, killing one Kolbar named Ahmad Sahraei and wounding eight others.

Also on Monday, Shahid Adak, one of the injured kolbars, died in hospital. He was 20 years old, single, and from the village of Zhivar in Sarvabad city.

According to this report, after the shooting of these kolbars, a group of Nosud citizens gathered at the city's clinic and chanted slogans against the Border Regiment forces.

According to reports, a number of Paveh market traders have also gone on strike to protest this action by the border forces.

According to statistics collected by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, since the beginning of December this year, six kolbars and traders have been killed and 55 others injured by gunfire from the Islamic Republic's military forces in the border areas of Iranian Kurdistan.

Meanwhile, in recent days, three kolbars have been injured in Marivan, Piranshahr, and Maku by border guards.
