Tomaj Salehi's sentence commuted from death to imprisonment

According to published news, Tomaj Salehi's death sentence was commuted to imprisonment.
Iranian rapper Toumaj Salehi was arrested during nationwide protests for singing songs against the regime, on charges of corruption on earth and propaganda against the regime, and spent 8 months in solitary confinement.
His trial was held in two sessions, behind closed doors. His lawyer, Amir Raisian, tweeted: "The Tomaj case investigation session was held at the Isfahan Prosecutor's Office this morning. Tomaj participated in the session via video conference and answered the investigator's questions with the presence of his lawyers. We hope that the case will be sent to the court for preliminary hearing as soon as possible after the shortcomings in the investigation are resolved."
The IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency wrote regarding the sentence of Tomaj Salehi: "Based on the news heard, Tomaj Salehi's death sentence was reduced to imprisonment due to his effective cooperation with the authorities in the case."
Sources familiar with Toumaj Salehi's condition reacted to the news published by Tasnim and stated that Tasnim is affiliated with the IRGC and security forces. Not only did Toumaj not cooperate, but despite breaking his fingers and damaging his eyes, which had impaired his vision for months, they were unable to force a confession from him. His death sentence was commuted to imprisonment because the regime was afraid of the massive public gathering in response to Toumaj's execution and another, larger revolution.
Also, his political sponsors from different countries and granting citizenship to Tomaj from Florence, Italy, have attracted the attention of many parliamentarians in different countries and people around the world, all of whom have called for support for Tomaj. The regime knows that any worse incident against Tomaj will result in a widespread wave of public anger, which will end up harming the regime, which is on the brink of collapse.
