Naftali Bennett's farewell to the Israeli Prime Ministership and the world of politics

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has resigned, saying he has no intention of running in the upcoming Knesset elections.
Bennett announced Wednesday night at a meeting of the Yamina party that he has no plans to run in the upcoming Knesset elections and is retiring from politics.
He also announced that he would hand over the leadership of his party to "Aylit Shaked."
He issued an emotional statement, defending his government's performance and saying that he would remain a soldier of the country and called serving his country his destiny.
According to news reports, the Knesset will be finally dissolved on Thursday morning in the second and third sessions, after which Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will officially assume the position of prime minister.
