"Sardar Radan": Hijab guardians do not fulfill their missions

Regarding the issue of hijab, Sardar Radan announced that the guardians of the hijab have not fulfilled their missions and have even become demanding.

During his visit to Qom yesterday, Thursday, May 26, Ahmad Reza Radan, the commander of the country's police force, said about the hijab and the guardians of the virtues: "There are 32 agencies in charge of the issue of hijab and chastity, but unfortunately some of them do not fulfill their missions and have even become demanding in this regard. The enemy is also trying to claim that the police are alone in implementing the hijab and chastity plan."

He refused to provide detailed information about these institutions that have been collecting money to impose compulsory hijab on people but are not fulfilling their duties. Continuing his remarks about the way the police treat women in relation to hijab, he said: "One of the accusations that is leveled at the police force is that the police only pay attention to the issue of hijab and chastity, which is not the case."

The Islamic Republic government brought the Islamic Guidance Patrol back to the streets on April 15 of this year and began a harsh crackdown on Iranian women under the name of "Plan of Light." The confrontation between law enforcement and plainclothes forces against women who oppose the hijab has been so severe that it has even provoked protests from some members of the regime.

In defense of the aforementioned violence, Ahmadreza Radan said that we have a long road ahead in implementing the Noor plan, but the police force does not have a security perspective on this matter. Sardar Radan made these remarks while the Secretary of the Amr-e-Marouf Headquarters on May 2 of this year criticized the behavior of the Ershad patrols in the new wave of the new plan on the streets of Iran and said: “In the Noor plan, it is a security matter and the police force command is directly involved in this plan.”

In his remarks a few days ago regarding the issue of hijab, Ebrahim Raisi also said: "The issue of chastity and hijab is a religious, legal, and political obligation that there is no doubt about."

While Ahmad Reza Radan did not mention the names of those responsible for imposing compulsory hijab in his statements, ISNA News Agency published an article after publishing Ahmad Reza Radan's remarks, listing the names of 23 institutions responsible for upholding the rule of law as follows: "Ministry of the Interior, Health and Treatment, Foreign Affairs, Labor and Social Welfare, Education, Economic Affairs and Finance, Ministry of Science, Communications, Roads and Urban Development, Sports and Youth, Islamic Culture and Guidance, Industry, Mines and Trade and Cultural Heritage, Islamic Propaganda Organizations, Welfare, Radio and Television, Program and Budget, Deputy for Women and Family Affairs, Judiciary, Islamic Consultative Assembly, Headquarters for Revival of Upholding the Rule of Law, Municipality and Police Command."
