Resuming the destruction of Shiraz's historical fabric

Mohammad Mehdi Kalantari announced the start of renewed destruction of Shiraz's historical fabric.
Mohammad Mehdi Kalantari, secretary of the National Campaign to Save the Historic Texture of Shiraz, announced the threat of evacuation and the beginning of the demolition of some of the historic houses.
In the past few months, the news of the destruction of the historical fabric of Shiraz in order to increase the size of the Shah Cheragh shrine has generated widespread reactions. The people living in those houses have complained and announced that they will not leave their homes, while in order to evict the people of those areas from their homes, water, electricity, and gas have been cut off.
Now, the news of the renewed destruction of the historical fabric of Shiraz on social media has provoked reactions from the public and some officials. According to Sharq Network, the demolition process began on Friday, May 25. To this end, the Roads and Urban Development Department, which is responsible for the acquisitions, has deployed workers to 15 houses with manual demolition equipment, removing doors and windows, and has been demolishing and tearing down the houses.
In this regard, Seyyed Moyed Mohsennejad, the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars Province, while denying the destruction of 15 plaques from the historical context, said: "Only one house was robbed, and that was because it was uninhabited. I emphasize that no house was destroyed and the news of the destruction of 15 plaques from the historical context houses is not true."
Mohsen Nejad's denial comes while the people living in the aforementioned areas themselves reported the destruction of their homes. The Islamic Republic government not only intends to cover up its crimes with lies, but also denies making people homeless and seizing their properties.
