Dir County: Two rangers injured after being shot by illegal hunters

On Friday morning, July 8, two rangers were injured by gunfire from illegal hunters in the Mond Protected Area in Dir County.

According to the HRANA news agency, citing the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation, two rangers in the city of Dir were injured following a clash with illegal hunters.

The Director General of Environmental Protection of Bushehr Province stated in this regard: On the morning of Friday, July 7, 1402, environmentalists Mohammad Reza Zarei and Asghar Esmaeili were shot by hunters while chasing two unauthorized hunters in the Mund Deir protected area and were seriously injured.

Farhad Gholinejad stated: The injured environmentalists were transferred to Kangan Hospital for treatment; the general condition of environmentalist Zarei is not satisfactory and has undergone surgery.

Gholinejad said: "Judicial pursuit to identify and arrest illegal hunters began in the early hours by order of the Bushehr provincial prosecutor."

It is worth noting that on November 10 of last year, in the same area (Mond Protected Area), two other rangers were injured after being shot by illegal hunters.

In November last year, two rangers were injured by illegal hunters in this protected area.
