Ali Mojtahedzadeh, a lawyer, was arrested by security agents on Monday, June 9.
According to the Etemad Online website, after "seizing his personal belongings," the agents took the lawyer to Evin Prosecutor's Office.
The reason for Mr. Mojtahedzadeh’s arrest has not been announced. In his last tweet, published on June 8, he wrote, referring to the first hearing of Akbar Tabari’s trial: “Cases that were investigated and decided by corrupt judges, including Ghasemzadeh and Mansouri, should be reviewed.”
On June 8, during the investigation into the economic violations of Akbar Tabari, the executive deputy head of the Judiciary during the Larijani era, it was announced that Bijan Ghasemzadeh and Gholamreza Mansouri, two well-known judicial officials, were also on the list of defendants related to Tabari's corruption case.
Bijan Ghasemzadeh, who became famous in 2017 for issuing a ruling to filter Telegram, has also played a role in dealing with journalists in previous years.
Gholamreza Mansouri, the judge in the Lavasan court who was accused of receiving 500,000 euros in bribes in the Tabari corruption case, also issued an arrest warrant for 20 journalists in 2012.
Mr. Mansouri, who was absent from court yesterday, is a fugitive, according to judicial authorities.
