Despite all the documentation, the accused Abadani girl and the security guard were acquitted

Branch 7 of the Abadan Prosecutor's Office issued a summons for Bahar Cheshm Barah, a citizen of Abadan. At the same time, Mehdi Kazemi, a security guard at the Abadan Refinery, was acquitted of the charges. In November of this year, the release of images of Ms. Cheshm Barah being beaten on social media under the title "Abadan Girl" attracted many reactions. In this video, the security guard touched the citizen's body and stepped on her body. Following this incident, the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation (IRBC) broadcast Ms. Cheshm Barah's confessions against herself on television.

According to HRANA, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Branch 7 of the Abadan Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant for Bahar Cheshm Barah, a citizen of Abadan, despite the existence of documents.

Branch 7 of the Abadan Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant for Ms. Cheshm Barah on charges of "forcible entry, assault, and intentional arson." At the same time, Dariush Memar, a Khuzestan journalist, reported the acquittal of Mehdi Kazemi, a security guard at the Abadan refinery, of the charges.

Babak Paknia, one of the lawyers defending this citizen, protested the issuance of the summons to appear before the evidence was presented, notified to the lawyers, and the final defense was taken by the prosecutor on his Twitter page: “Does the judge who issues a ruling based on the film believe in the explanation of evidence?! Isn’t it necessary to play the film in the presence of the lawyers and the defendant in order to explain the evidence? Did he learn anything about the explanation of evidence in law school?”

The lawyer, who had requested a review of the CCTV cameras in the presence of the lawyers in the case, has again reported the pressure on his client: “Bahar Cheshm Barah was telling me that the previous judge had told him to dismiss Paknia! He even said that if he signed this page, it would be enough for us to notify him of his dismissal! The new judge has issued an order to summon him to court, without paying attention to the bill sent through the self-service system and without holding a meeting or notification!”

Babak Paknia had previously reported that there was pressure on his client to dismiss the lawyer from the first judge in the case.

On November 2 of this year, the release of images of the beating of Ms. Cheshm Barah on social media under the title "Abadan Girl" attracted many reactions. In this video, after Ms. Cheshm Barah was injured in a fight, the security guard at the Abadan Refinery touched the citizen's body and stepped on her.

Following this incident, the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation (IRCC) broadcast the citizen's self-inflicted confessions on television. Some time later, the deputy social affairs officer of the Abadan police command announced the arrest of the security guard.
