The mysterious murder of civil activist Farshid Heki and the mixed reactions on social media

Social media reported the brutal murder of Farshid Heki, a civil activist, writer, and researcher.

For the first time, Abdolreza Davari, a supporter of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, wrote on his Twitter page about the details of the murder of this civil activist, stating that he was stabbed to death and his body was burned.

But other news reports also indicate that Farshid Heki's body was mutilated, and some describe the manner of his murder as similar to serial murders.

On the other hand, the "manager" of one of the civil activist's colleagues explained in an audio file about the motives for this crime, saying, "I can't find any logical reason for his murder. He was a very balanced person in his political and social activities, and we never saw any provocative behavior. Perhaps there was a legal issue or personal enmity involved, but it is strange that he was murdered with such cruelty with a knife near his home and his body was burned."

The murder of Farshid Heki has sparked many reactions on social media, with some users comparing his murder to the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and criticizing the silence of official media outlets within Iran about this crime.

This civil activist was also a member of the "Gentle Zagras" environmental campaign, a campaign that criticized water management policies in Iran.

The murder of "Haki" occurred at a time when a number of arrested environmental activists have been accused of corruption on earth . Now, some Twitter users are not considering the murder of "Farshid Haki" unrelated to his environmental activism.

Political differences are also notable in the face of the news of the murder of this civil activist, with some describing the murder of Farshid Heki as a rumor-mongering plot by media outlets close to Ahmadinejad.

In a statement he published on one of his social media pages two years ago, Farshid Heki wrote that since 2009, he has requested permission to officially establish the "Advanguards of Justice and Rights of Iranians" party more than nine times within the framework of the parties law and the constitution from the Ministry of Interior and the Article 10 Commission on Parties, but he has never been granted such permission.

In 2016, he applied once again to obtain a license for the party to operate in the Rouhani government, but was unable to register the party.

Three months ago, "Haki" had also filed a lawsuit complaining about the blatant violation of civil rights, social rights, and the lack of freedom for political and social parties and organizations.
