Stockholm's Imam Ali Mosque, an Iranian government spy base

Sweden has declared Stockholm's Imam Ali Mosque a spy base for the Iranian government.
The Swedish government, while cutting off its financial assistance to the Imam Ali Mosque in Stockholm, referred to the center as a spy base for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Swedish government issued a statement saying: “This Islamic-Shiite center was a safe haven for intelligence agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran who, in addition to Iranian immigrants, have also spied on the activities of the Swedish government.” The Swedish Minister of Social Affairs also pointed out that the Iranian government used the Imam Ali Islamic Center as the main base for its intelligence activities in Sweden and said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has established a wide network of various Islamic centers in European countries, and these centers, like the Imam Ali Mosque in Stockholm, carry out similar espionage activities throughout Europe. The German government also closed the Hamburg Islamic Center last year as a center for espionage by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Therefore, the Swedish government has cut off financial assistance to this center and has also adopted a complementary procedure for it.”
The Imam Ali Islamic Center also rejected this accusation and, in response to it, wrote on its website: "This institution is an independent organization and has no connection with political parties or governments. The center conducts careful monitoring to ensure that its premises are not used as a platform for criminal activities."
The Swedish government also announced: "The country's financial resources should no longer be spent on activities and actions that are contrary to fundamental democratic values."
After the closure of the Imam Ali Islamic Center in Stockholm and the arrest of its director, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to and protesting against this issue, summoned the Swedish ambassador to Tehran and said: "The Swedish government has not followed diplomatic channels in its action."
It should be noted that last September, Stockholm authorities accused the Islamic Republic of Iran of carrying out cyberattacks against Sweden.
