50% decrease in Iranian travel abroad in 2018

The head of the Tehran Association of Airline Travel, Tourism and Pilgrimage Agencies said: "According to information from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, nearly 10 million Iranians left the country in 2017, but this number reached 5 million last year."
He said: "Experts expect this figure to decrease again this year due to the increase in exit fees and exit taxes. Iranians who have traveled to Europe in previous years have become travelers to nearby countries such as the Emirates during Nowruz 98. Of course, the increase in the price of the "dirham" has caused Iranians who are still looking for a foreign trip to go to Turkey."
