Corona in Iran: Critical situation in Khuzestan, concerns expressed in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Bushehr and Fars

Following the spread of the mutated coronavirus and the fourth wave of the virus in the past month, the situation in the southern regions, especially Khuzestan Province, is still reported to be critical.
Despite the implementation of new protocols and the announcement of quarantine in these areas, the number of infected and dead people due to COVID-19 is increasing in Bushehr, Kohgiluyeh, Boyer-Ahmad, and Fars.
Official statistics in Iran indicate that 99 people have died and 8,313 new cases of coronavirus have been reported. This brings the total number of infected people in Iran to 1,698,050, and according to official statistics, 60,786 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus.
Institutions within Iran are skeptical of official statistics and believe the real figure is many times higher.
However, Hamid Souri, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Coronavirus Response Headquarters, questioned the rapid coronavirus tests in public places in Iran, and considered their negative and, in many cases, incorrect results to be among the main reasons for the spread of coronavirus in the country.
The medical community had previously warned about the consequences of buying and selling negative coronavirus tests in laboratories for prices ranging from two to five million tomans.
