44% of households are not homeowners.

According to official statistics from the Statistical Center of Iran, as of January of this year, the average price per square meter of a residential unit in Tehran has been announced at around 13,810,000 Tomans, which is a 2.1 percent increase compared to the previous month, December of this year, and a 40.9 percent increase compared to last year. According to this center's statistics, the highest average price was 30 million and 160 thousand tomans per square meter in District 1 of Tehran.

According to the latest statistics, 31 percent of households living in Iran are currently tenants. According to these statistics, 51 percent of renting households live in Tehran province, and 44 percent of households living in the capital are not homeowners.
