Germany: Attack by Extremist Muslims on Afghan Christian Refugee

According to news received from Christian activists by the Iranian Christians’ Voice news agency (Vocir), a Christian convert and Afghan citizen in the city of Maintal near Frankfurt in the state of Hesse was attacked by four Muslim refugees and fellow countrymen and was severely injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers shouted “Allahu Akbar” with the intention of killing him.

The victim, who is himself a refugee, voluntarily works as a translator at a refugee care center. Before the attack, he was present at a worship service.

It is reported that this incident occurred on Wednesday night, August 17. The victim was standing outside his residence when four men shouted “Allahu Akbar” and attacked him, beating him with fists, kicks, and a knife. With the intervention of residents, all four attackers fled. Subsequently, with the arrival of emergency personnel, the victim was transferred to the hospital and received medical treatment.

The victim’s identity is protected for security reasons. He is currently being treated at the hospital with visible bruises on his shoulders, forearms, and face. He says: “The situation is very difficult for us Muslim-born converts to Christianity. Neither in our own country nor in Germany can we easily speak about our religious beliefs. Even the cross we wear around our necks must be kept hidden.”

Three of the attackers live in the Maintal refugee camp and one lives in Darmstadt.

Organizations supporting persecuted Christians have repeatedly warned police authorities in that country about the presence of radical Muslims and arbitrary and dangerous actions against Christian converts in refugee care centers in Germany, and had even demanded the separation of Muslims and Christians in these centers.
