Austria donates one million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Iran

Austria donated one million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Iran to combat the global coronavirus outbreak. Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg announced on Monday, September 5, that every vaccine is important in our global fight against the pandemic and that we cannot see any gaps in the global vaccination map.
The assistance to Austria comes at a time when, according to the latest statistics from the Iranian Ministry of Health, 27,579 new cases were confirmed in the country from September 4 to September 5, bringing the total number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran to 5,156,986.
Also, in the past 24 hours, 583 more patients lost their lives, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 111,257.
Vaccination in Iran is slow, and many blame Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, for the current situation and the deaths of tens of thousands of citizens because he had previously banned the import of "American" and "British" vaccines.
