Coronavirus death toll in China exceeds 3,000; California declares state of emergency

China's National Health Commission announced on Thursday that 31 more people have died from the coronavirus, bringing the country's death toll to 3,012. The US state of California has also declared a state of emergency to combat the coronavirus.
The Chinese Health Commission has announced that the number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country is 80,409.
South Korea also says that with the identification of 438 new cases, the total number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country has increased to 7,766.
The South Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also said that three more people have died, bringing the death toll to 35.
Death toll rises in America
Meanwhile, the number of victims of the coronavirus, Covid-19, in the United States rose to 11 on Wednesday, March 4.
Ten people have died in Washington state and one person has died in California.
Hours after it was announced that one person had died from the coronavirus in California, a state of emergency was declared in the state. At the same time, the US House of Representatives approved an emergency aid package of $8.3 billion to combat the coronavirus.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced that the number of people infected with the coronavirus in the state has exceeded 50.
The governor of California said that declaring a state of emergency in the state would better allocate resources to combat the virus.
A person who contracted the coronavirus after returning from a cruise ship in Mexico last month died Wednesday, the first known fatality outside of Washington state, the Placer County Health Department in California said.
The health department statement stated that the person contracted the virus while traveling on the Princess Cruise Ship from Mexico to San Francisco.
In Seattle, Washington, the number of infected people increased from 27 to 39 on Wednesday.
Most of the coronavirus cases in Washington state have been linked in some way to residents of the Kirkland nursing home in the Seattle suburbs. At least six of the coronavirus victims in Washington state were from the Kirkland nursing home, according to Reuters.
In New York state, the number of people infected with the Covid-19 virus reached 10 on Wednesday. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that three members of a family and their neighbor had tested positive.
Andrew Cuomo also said that two families infected with the coronavirus live in the suburb of Westchester County. He said about 1,000 people in the area have quarantined themselves.
CNN says at least 159 people in the United States have contracted the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives approved an emergency bill supported by both Republicans and Democrats to allocate $8.3 billion in funding for the government to combat the coronavirus outbreak.
The bill is scheduled to be approved by the Senate on Friday.
The World Health Organization has also announced that the global mortality rate from the coronavirus is 3.4%, contrary to previous predictions. The organization had previously announced a mortality rate of 2%.
