Elham Samimi released on bail

On Thursday, December 10, Elham Samimi, a student at the University of Tehran, was temporarily released on bail. Ms. Samimi had been arrested by security forces in Tehran on December 25.
According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, today, Thursday, December 10, 2020, Elham Samimi, a detained student at Tehran University, was released.
Ms. Samimi has been temporarily released on bail of one billion and three hundred million Tomans until the end of the trial.
This citizen was arrested by security forces on Tuesday, December 25, 2020, after being in Evin Prison.
Before his arrest, Elham Samimi had been interrogated many times in one of the security institutions' detention centers in Evin Prison and in the security forces' safe houses on Labafinejad Street in Tehran. Following his refusal to return to the safe house for further interrogation, he and his family faced threats from the security forces.
On Friday, October 15, the student's home was searched by security forces. After searching the home, the officers confiscated a number of Ms. Samimi's personal belongings and took them away. Ms. Samimi was threatened by the officers with summons and security and judicial action.
