Deadly gas explosion in Ahvaz

A massive explosion in the Ameri district of Ahvaz left 6 dead and 9 injured. Search and rescue operations are ongoing in Ahvaz. There have been three gas explosions in the city in the past three months. Authorities have not yet explained the cause of the “chain” of explosions.

On Sunday, October 11, at 8:42 a.m., a two-story villa in the Ameri Bazaar of Ahvaz was completely destroyed by a gas explosion. Six people were killed and nine others were injured in the incident.

Farhang Korebandi, head of pre-hospital emergency and incident management at Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences, announced the increase in the death toll from Sunday's gas explosion in Ameri, Ahvaz. According to the local official, five injured people were transported by ambulance and four by vehicle to Imam and Golestan hospitals.

Fars News Agency, in a report from the scene of the incident, said that the cause of the explosion was a gas leak, and that a number of residents, as well as local businessmen and customers, were injured.

Different statistics have been published about the number of injured. Ebrahim Qanbari, head of the Ahvaz Municipality Fire and Safety Services Organization, said that three people were killed and six were injured in the Ahvaz gas explosion.

Two weeks ago, two explosions occurred in the Flower Town of Ahvaz. IRNA news agency reported, citing Ebrahim Qanbari, head of the Ahvaz Municipality Fire and Safety Services Organization, that the explosion in the Flower Town of Ahvaz led to the destruction of a residential unit in a two-story, four-unit complex.

Ghanbari said four people trapped under the rubble were injured in the explosion, and a 26-year-old woman also died.

The cause of the incident was declared to be an "explosion due to a gas leak."

Previously, five people were injured in two gas explosions on July 8 in one of the areas of Ahvaz.

Ahvaz has set a record for gas explosions in Iranian cities with three explosions in one month. However, officials have not provided an explanation for most of the reports about the explosions in this city and have not announced the results of the investigations into the incidents.

Yayed added that such incidents did not only occur in Ahvaz, but similar incidents have also occurred in other cities in Iran.

Seven killed and injured in explosion in Tehran's Shamsabad Industrial Park

Hassan Kouhneshin, director of the Shams Abad Industrial Park in Tehran Province, announced on Saturday, October 10, that seven people were killed and injured in an explosion at this industrial unit.

The IRNA news agency, quoting a mountaineer, reported that an explosion occurred on Saturday evening, October 9, due to a blast in a casting furnace at the Pak Bronze Company in the town, resulting in two deaths and five injuries. The condition of one of the injured is reported to be serious.

Shamsabad Industrial Park, with an area of ​​about three thousand hectares, is known as the largest industrial park in the Middle East. It is located 35 kilometers from the Tehran-Qom road.
