Evangelicals and the threat to Christian citizens in Iran, security-media narrative 20:30

The security-media narrator of the 20:30 news program talks about the connection between Christian citizens in Iran and Evangelicals, which indicates a huge threat against Christians in Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRI) has published a video report from its 20:30 news segment, accusing a number of detained Christian citizens of "espionage," an act that can be described as a very clear example of hate speech, according to the UN definition.

The 20:30 news segment, which is known for producing security documentaries, broadcasting forced confessions from political and ideological prisoners, and its journalists' cooperation with security institutions in interrogations, has attempted in its recent report to portray Christian citizens as dependent on Israel and its security organization, the Mossad.

In addition to showing scenes of some of the arrested Christian citizens at a gathering in Turkey, this video report also shows images of Christian Bibles, other Christian texts, and Narcotics Anonymous pamphlets as confiscated items and evidence of the crime. Also included in this security-media scenario are the televised confessions of a number of arrested citizens, in which they admit to traveling to attend religious education seminars. In the documentary broadcast on the 20:30 news segment, it is claimed that “evangelical pastors” are secretly converting Iranians and their footprints have been visible in Iran for years.

The report’s producer, Amne Sadat Zabihpour, whom critics call an “interrogator-journalist,” claims that leaders of a Persian-language church delivered “political sermons” during the conference’s worship service. The video then attempts to complete the security narrative by showing items allegedly recorded from detainees, audio files from unidentified individuals, and televised confessions. The report’s narrator, Amne Sadat Zabihpour, is on the sanctions list of the European Union, Australia, and the United States for gross human rights violations and forced confessions.

Amina Sadat Zabihpour says in this video report: "When the Zionists were supposed to attack from the sky, some people on the ground would become the infantry of this attack. An extremist-deviant sect called the "Evangelists" who say that the Promised One has promised that the world will be conquered by the Zionists and that the return of the Jews to Jerusalem is the stage of the appearance of the Savior and the beginning of the apocalypse. They support the construction of settlements in the occupied territories and are serious opponents of recognizing the state of Palestine. The Evangelists' main focus is on West Asia, they consider peace in this region to be an obstacle to the appearance of the Savior. That is why they are waging war against Iran and Hezbollah.

"The Zionist priests who preach openly in America are secretly converting people here in West Asia. Their footprints have been seen in Iran for several years, and the images you see have been secretly recorded of their movements. They go to Izmir and the Izmir camp in Turkey. One of their leaders was initially trained by this sect and has been very active on social media against Iran. His interest in Netanyahu is also evident on his page. He has formed an organization for the interests of America and the Zionists, headed by several evangelical priests."

Zabihpour adds in his report: "The evangelicals in a paramilitary camp called "Arwalia" under the support and guidance of the Zionists have put their thoughts into the heads of these people. But this training course is not for religious conversion, and at the end of baptism it is not just brainwashing to become an evangelical. Political sermons are given amidst religious teachings."

In one of these sermons, Bryan Adams says: “It doesn’t matter if the government says bad things about Israel, but there are people in Iran who pray for Israel.” Zabihpour, referring to Adams’s words, continues: “The teachings are mixed with the flag of the monarchists and support for the Zionists, and they want more affinity with the Zionists than with Christian ideas. Like Bryan Adams, who has been traveling to the occupied territories for years and is proud to take pictures with Zionist child murderers.

In addition to these face-to-face meetings, they hold numerous meetings in cyberspace, where royalists are also present. They have divided the map of Iran with a cross and have drawn churches instead of mosques, and with these images they have tried to erase the crime from the face of the Zionists. The evangelists had prepared the Iranians for the promised day, but the promised day was not the day of the Savior’s appearance, but the time of Zion’s attack on Iran. They knew that Iran would be attacked.”

Ameneh Sadat, referring to Brian Adams's words: "I am talking to the Persian powers. All the powers of Satan that are in the skies of Iran are supposed to be broken," continues: "In these chats, they tell their forces that Iran will be attacked, they mention zero hour, which is very close. Pastor Brian calls Zion God's chosen one, that Iran cannot attack it, and that Iranian missiles will not reach Tel Aviv."

In the aforementioned video, Brian, in response to the question "how he thinks about this situation," says: "I said Iran cannot hit Israel, because no one can hit Israel. Israel is God's chosen place," and Zabihpour says in this regard: "With this plan, when key points in Iran are targeted, their forces will capture sensitive points until a puppet government comes to power."

He also referred to the recorded voice of one of the agents and said: "We are talking about extensive organization and large operations such as the elimination, the elimination of military forces, the elimination of military figures, as well as the organization and expedition to Tehran."

A person who, according to Amine Sadat, is one of the leaders of Zionism inside the country says: “We want weapons, meaning equip us with thousands of troops so that we can go to Tehran and conquer the capital.” This interrogator-journalist continues in response to the words of the leader of Zionism: “They also intended to prepare a mass grave for supporters of the Islamic Republic. The claimants of friendship and peace had prepared equipment and weapons to attack the people so that the Zionist regime’s attack would create the conditions for Reza Pahlavi’s entry. But all of them were under surveillance by the Ministry of Intelligence before the attack and were detained during the attack.”

It should be noted that during the aforementioned report, part of the forced confessions of several people who were apparently Zionist agents were also broadcast, stating: "The enemy is very ready to exploit this situation and inject its own thoughts and desires and religious and religious superstitions into the people of our country, but people must be vigilant and careful not to fall into the trap of such people."

Zabihpour says: "The images of the exchange of organizational shipments show that they were in the ranks of the Unknown Soldiers of the Imam of the Time. This rank was enough to identify and arrest more than fifty of their trained people before zero hour and to cut off the connection of this deviant sect with internal elements. A group with no affinity with Iranian Christians and real Christians of Iran, Christians who were immensely brothers of Muslims and to a great extent considered by the leader of the resistance and who also provided martyrs for Iran. These groups were only one piece of the enemy's combined war during those 12 days, which you will hear about in subsequent reports from other Zionist elements who were identified."

However, the reality is that this documentary is in line with the same media pattern that has been used against religious and ideological minorities in Iran for years, an attempt to legitimize the suppression and detention of Christian citizens on general and security charges. With such reports, the Islamic Republic Radio and Television confronts not only Iranian Christians but also the entire society with an atmosphere of constant fear and threat. The international community has repeatedly warned that the security of Christians and other religious minorities in Iran is severely endangered, and the recent 20:30 report shows that this danger continues.
