Members of a local street music group arrested in Ilam

Members of a local street music group were arrested following a statement by the Ilam Province "Stad Amr Beh Marouf".
Mehr News Agency published this news on Tuesday, July 8, claiming that the group was arrested for not complying with "cultural and health requirements."
On Monday, a short clip went viral showing a young girl dancing alongside a local music group playing the Dehl instrument on Saadi Street in Ilam.
After the clip was broadcast, the "Headquarters for Encouraging Righteousness and Forbidding Evil" issued a statement condemning what it called "norm-breaking and anti-cultural movements."
This headquarters has called for "a decisive response to the perpetrators, the behind-the-scenes elements, and those who attack religious sanctities."
Afshar Khosravizad, the prosecutor of Ilam, also confirmed the arrest of the members of this street music group, claiming that these individuals were present on the street "without observing cultural and health requirements," and for this reason, they were arrested and handed over to the judicial authority.
Encountering street music bands in Iran has become commonplace, especially if there is a female singer.
