Statement by the Iranian Writers' Association on labor and civil activists: Release them
کانون نویسندگان ایران با انتشار بیانیهای خواهان آزادی فوری و بیقید و شرط «اسماعیل بخشی»، «سپیده قلیان»، «علی نجاتی»، «امیرحسین محمدیفرد»، «ساناز اللهیاری»، «امیر امیرقلی»، «عسل محمدی» و دیگر زندانیان سیاسی و عقیدتی است.
کانون نویسندگان ایران روز پنجشنبه ۹ مرداد با انتشار بیانیهای با تاکید برحق آزادی بیان بیهیچ حصر و استثنا، برگزاری محاکمه کارگران معترض و مدافعان آنها که قرار است روز شنبه ۱۲ مرداد در شعبهی ۲۸ دادگاه انقلاب اسلامی به ریاست قاضی مقیسه برگزار شود را محکوم کرد و خواهان آزادی این زندانیان شد.
در این بیانیه آمده است که سال گذشته کارگران معترض شرکت نیشکر هفت تپه افرادی را به نمایندگی انتخاب کردند تا اخبار و گزارش اعتراضات را بازتاب دهند و حال آن نمایندگان، مدافعان و بازتابدهندگان پس از ماهها بازداشت و تحمل رنج فراوان قرار است روز دوشنبه ۱۲ مرداد به دادگاه برده شوند.
کانون نویسندگان ایران با اشاره به اینکه هر جامعهای بدون وجود و حضور اینگونه انسانها به قهقرا میرود اعلام کرده است، این هفت نفر با معیارهای حداقلی حقوق شهروندی، نه تنها جرمی مرتکب نشدهاند که به حق شهروندی و انسانی خود عمل کردهاند و آنها، بر خلاف انشای سیستم دادرسی و محاکم، ضامن امنیت اجتماعی مردم هستند.
Labor activist Esmaeil Bakhshi and civil society activist Sepideh Gholian were first arrested in November last year during protests by workers at the Haft Tappeh Sugar Company. After their release, the two announced that they had been tortured and forced to make "forced confessions" during their detention.
در حال حاضر سپیده قلیان در اعتراض به اهانت عوامل زندان قرچک به خانوادهش و نیز در اعلام حمایت از امیرحسینمحمدیفرد و ساناز الهیاری دست به اعتصاب غذای زده است.
Ali Nejati, a member of the board of directors of the Haft Tappeh Workers' Union, was arrested at his home on November 29 last year on charges of interfering in the strikes of Haft Tappeh sugarcane workers. After some time, on February 29 of the same year, he was released from prison on medical leave due to a heart and respiratory condition.
Amirhossein Mohammadifard, editor-in-chief of the student publication Gam, and Sanaz Alhayari, members of the editorial board, two arrested defendants who have been in custody since January 9, 2018, in the case of protests by workers at the Haft Tapeh Sugar Company, recently announced in an open letter from Evin Prison that they will go on a hunger strike.
Ten days after starting her hunger strike on July 14, Sanaz Alhayari ended her hunger strike due to her deteriorating physical condition and the insistence of her family, but her husband, Amir Hossein Mohammadifard, is still on hunger strike.
Previously, Amnesty International issued a statement on the occasion of International Workers' Day (May 1st) calling on the authorities of the Islamic Republic to immediately release workers and civil society activists who were arrested during strikes and other peaceful protests.
