Israel turns Al-Ouda hospital into barracks
The Gaza Health Ministry stated that Israel has turned Al-Awda Hospital into a barracks.
Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesman for the Gaza Health Ministry, announced this morning, Tuesday, December 19, the arrest of 240 people, including patients, medical personnel, and displaced people living in the hospital. According to him, Israeli forces have turned the hospital into a military barracks.
According to Palestinian media reports, the death toll from the bombing of several houses east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip has reached 29, including several journalists. Dozens of people were also killed and 40 injured in an Israeli bombing of a residential complex in the Jabalia refugee camp. Two journalists were also injured in a bombing of a medical center near Jabalia.
According to the Times of Israel newspaper, seven Israeli soldiers also lost their lives in yesterday's fighting in the Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of Israeli army deaths since the start of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip to 129.
A World Health Organization official, referring to the Israeli attack on a hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, said: "The hospital that was attacked by Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip has stopped its work and evacuated patients, including children. This situation will further endanger the already collapsed health services in the Gaza Strip."
The World Health Organization, while emphasizing the need to obtain information about the "Kamal Adwan" hospital, which Israeli forces have destroyed under the pretext of being used by Hamas elements and forced the displaced to leave, announced: "While many Gazans have been displaced to the south of the city, reports indicate that up to several hundred thousand people remain in the north and nearly 4,000 displaced people have taken refuge in the Nasser Medical Complex in the south of Khan Younis, who are at risk as Israeli attacks continue."
US President Joe Biden also reacted and criticized Israel's indiscriminate bombing of Gaza, stressing that Israel should be more careful to avoid civilian casualties.
