The continued arrest and uncertainty of "Mojgan Salmanzadeh", a Baha'i citizen

Baha'i citizen Mojgan Salmanzadeh is in limbo in Urmia Prison after 12 days of arrest.

Mojgan Salmanzadeh, a researcher in the field of physiological psychology, was arrested by security forces in the city of Maku on July 5th and recently announced in a phone call that she had been transferred to the general ward of Urmia Prison, but so far she has not been able to be temporarily released.

Now, 12 days after his arrest, he is still in limbo, and no report has been issued regarding the reason for his arrest or the charges against him.

In addition to Christian and Jewish citizens, Baha'i citizens are also deprived of religious freedom and beliefs in Iran. Systematic deprivations regarding freedom of religion and belief, while according to Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, everyone has the right to freedom of religion and to change his religion with belief, as well as the freedom to manifest it, either individually or in community with others and in public or in private.

According to statistics published from unofficial sources, there are more than 300,000 Baha'i citizens in Iran, but the Iranian constitution does not recognize the Baha'i religion, and over the past years, the rights of Baha'is in Iran have been severely violated and persecuted.
