According to experts, in the past few years, the water in Saadi Qanat has gradually declined due to successive droughts, until this year it has caused the fish pond to completely dry up. In 2014, it was also announced that in addition to the drought, part of the Saadi Qanat channels may have collapsed and need to be dredged. With dredging, the Qanat was revived again in September of last year and water began to flow in its channels, but it seems that another drought has dried up the water in this Qanat.

According to historical documents, during the Sasanian era, the water of Saadi's Qanat irrigated the Delgosha Garden area of ​​Shiraz and the fields below it. During Saadi's time, the flow of this Qanat created greenery and a resort for the people of Shiraz, where Saadi also lived at the end of his life.

But it should be known that the main reason for this issue is the indiscretion of the city rulers and their wrong and inappropriate policies in managing affairs. It seems that the successive explosions in the mountains around Saadi town for the construction of a highway and the construction of very large urban gardens on the route from Saadi town to Kharamah, which in turn led to the construction of numerous authorized and unauthorized wells in this area, are the main reason for the drying up of the Saadi pond and the aqueducts around it. Therefore, once again, the managers without expertise in Fars province have caused numerous problems in this city by taking incorrect measures and are trying to lead people's minds towards drought by concealing the main cause, but the reality of the matter is simply the indiscretion of inexperienced and unspecialized managers.
