ISIS says Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's son killed in Syria

The so-called Islamic State (ISIS) group says the son of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the extremist group, has died in fighting with Syrian government forces.
According to the Associated Press, the announcement of the death of al-Baghdadi's young son was published on social media accounts affiliated with the ISIS group on Tuesday night.
In these messages, images of him, identified as "Hudhaifa al-Badri," are seen holding a gun.
The son of the ISIS leader is said to have been killed in clashes with Syrian and Russian forces at an electricity substation in Homs province, but the date of his death has not been mentioned.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the last ISIS operations in the area took place in the first two weeks of last month (June).
The news of the death of the self-proclaimed caliph of ISIS has been reported many times before, and while it cannot be confirmed with certainty, some believe he is alive.
Not much is known about Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's family. In 2014, a woman and her daughter, believed to be the wife and child of the ISIS leader, were arrested in Lebanon.
Therefore, it cannot currently be officially confirmed whether Hudhaifa al-Badri, the young man allegedly killed in the Syrian war, was actually the son of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
