"Two Iranian border guards killed in clash in Sardasht region"

Reports indicate that two border guards were killed in a clash between armed individuals and Iranian border guards affiliated with the Sardasht Border Regiment in West Azerbaijan.

The state-run IRNA news agency, citing the "Naja Martyrs News Site," wrote: The clash began at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 6, in the Sardasht Border Regiment of the Byuran Brigade, in the Kani Sio Tower.

According to the report, First Lieutenant Yousef Piraneh and First Lieutenant Mahboob Ghorbani were killed in a clash with "a number of evil people affiliated with terrorist groups."

The Islamic Republic of Iran's media also refers to armed opposition groups as terrorist groups.

Official Iranian sources have not yet confirmed the news of this conflict.

On the other hand, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the conflict.

In recent years, the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and Kermanshah have witnessed clashes between Iranian security forces and armed groups opposed to the Islamic Republic, including the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran and members of the Kurdistan Free Life Party, known as PJAK.

Last year, two border guards and two experts from the Iranian Water Organization were injured in a shooting in the Boralan area of Maku County in West Azerbaijan Province on the Iran-Turkey border, and one of the border guards died from the severity of his injuries.

Previously, IRGC officials had announced the termination of operations by the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) forces in Kurdistan and West Azerbaijan.

The Islamic Republic of Iran accuses these Kurdish armed groups of “separatism” and “connections with foreigners.” On the other hand, these groups also accuse the Islamic Republic of violating the rights of Kurds in Iran and say that their goal is to pursue Kurdish rights.
