Invitation to female students from Gaza to study in Iran

The Vice President for Women's Affairs announced that female students from Gaza will receive scholarships to study in Iran.

On Monday, November 12, Ansiya Khazali, deputy to Ebrahim Raisi, spoke at the first international meeting of Iranian women, architects of civilization in the translation movement, which was attended by intellectuals from 15 countries around the world and hosted by Hamedan province. She also mentioned the position of women in Islam and announced the welcoming of female students from Gaza to study in Iran.

He announced at the meeting: "The place that Islam assigns to women, the family, and preserving family values is one of the responsibilities that rests on our shoulders. If this family, the life of the righteous and the martyrs, and the works that you see translated were not there, and if these beauties were not depicted, in the face of the oppression that you see in Palestine, these greatnesses, purity, and sacrifices for the existence of humanity would be worthy of celebration and appreciation."

He also announced in the meeting that Iran has agreed to provide scholarships to Gaza students, adding: "We will provide scholarships to three Gaza students, and the universities will continue this work in order and welcome female students from Gaza to come and study here. As we have previously announced, we will also support Afghan students and will welcome these people to universities, especially those dedicated to women."

His statements regarding scholarships for students from Gaza and Afghanistan come at a time when the Iranian Statistics Center reported earlier this year that 556,000 students had dropped out of high school due to various reasons, the main of which was poverty and deprivation. The Deputy Minister of Primary Education of the Ministry of Education also reported that 160,000 elementary school students had dropped out of school in the 1401-1402 academic year. However, the Islamic Republic of Iran, regardless of the dropout rate of Iranian students, many of whom dropped out of school for economic reasons, has accepted students from Gaza and given them scholarships.
