Tehran's death toll record breaks in the past 50 years

Iranian media outlets have reported on the acute and critical situation in Tehran in the second week of the fourth wave of the coronavirus.
In this context, Mashreq News published a video on Wednesday, quoting the CEO of Behesht Zahra Hospital in Tehran, calling the death toll on Tuesday, April 11, unprecedented in the past 50 years, and wrote that in the past 50 years, "we have not had such a death toll in one day, not even in the 8 years of the Sacred Defense."
According to Saeed Khal, Tehran had "150 coronavirus deaths and 200 non-coronavirus deaths on Tuesday, and it was the hardest working day for his colleagues."
At the same time, Eqtesadnews has published photos by Majid Ghamkhar, a news reporter, of the installation of four-story prefabricated graves in Behesht-e-Zahra, Tehran.
Previously, Reza Karami Mohammadi, head of the Tehran Municipality's Crisis Prevention and Management Organization, had warned that if the coronavirus situation worsens, "the capacity of the morgues will probably no longer be sufficient for the deceased."
On Tuesday, ILNA news agency reported, quoting Mr. Karami Mohammadi, that approximately one-third of the daily death toll "belongs to Tehran and its suburbs, and the situation is not good."
Reza Karami Mohammadi has explicitly stated that "in circumstances where the number of deceased increases, [cemetery staff] may not be able to perform the burial on the same day and it will be postponed to the next day."
The number of coronavirus cases and victims in Iran has increased after the Nowruz holiday, with Minoo Mahrez, a member of the scientific committee of the headquarters to combat coronavirus, telling Mizan News Agency that even with the beginning of Ramadan in Iran, "the situation has not changed and the streets are very crowded."
Hassan Rouhani's government refused to impose strict preventive regulations to prevent Nowruz travel, and after the Nowruz holidays, coronavirus statistics increased sharply.
Alireza Zali, commander of the Corona Response Team, told Iran Newspaper on Tuesday, April 11, that Tehran has the highest share of the outbreak, deaths, and hospitalizations, and is in a super-red state, with its conditions reported to be more critical each week than the previous week.
The commander of the coronavirus response headquarters in Tehran has warned of the dangerous situation in Tehran and said that he is concerned about the future situation of the "high circulation of the so-called English virus" in Tehran.
