Zeinab Esmaili sentenced to 6 years in prison

On Saturday, December 2, Zeinab Esmaeili, a citizen of Dehgolan County, was sentenced in absentia to six years in prison by the First Branch of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court.
According to HRANA News Agency, citing Kurdpa, on Saturday, December 2, 2020, a citizen from Dehgolan County was sentenced in absentia to six years of imprisonment by the First Branch of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court.
According to this report, the identity of this citizen is "Zeinab Esmaili" from Dehgolan city and a member of the Mothers of Reconciliation of Kurdistan.
The report quotes an informed source as saying: "Zeinab Esmaili has been sentenced to five years in prison on charges of membership in an opposition party and one year in prison on charges of propaganda against the regime."
This informed source added: "After learning of the verdict, Zeinab Esmaili's family hired a lawyer and filed a petition for recusal. After Zeinab Esmaili's petition was accepted, the citizen's court session was held on Saturday, December 1, in the first branch of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Saeidi, the court that issued the verdict in absentia."
He continued: "This citizen was not informed of the court summons because his mobile phone was confiscated by security forces, and the court summons was sent to his mobile phone as a text message."
This citizen was arrested by security forces in Dehgolan city on March 29, 2019 and transferred to the Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center for interrogation. On April 7 of this year, she was released from the women's ward of the Sanandaj Correctional Center after posting bail.
It is worth noting that the Mothers of Reconciliation of Kurdistan was founded by a number of mothers of martyrs and executed political prisoners.
