Floods in seven provinces of Iran; 9 people killed in the past 24 hours

Heavy rainfall in Iranian cities has led to flooding in seven provinces, missing citizens, and loss of life and property. Nine people have died in the past 24 hours, six of whom are employees of the Kerman Electricity Department.

Continuous spring rains have caused flooding and inundation in the provinces of Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan, Kerman, Semnan, Isfahan, and Yazd. In addition to damage to homes, cars, and roads, a number of citizens have gone missing in the past 24 hours in the aforementioned provinces.

The CEO of the Yazd Red Crescent also said that the flood on the Choupanan-Ardakan axis swept away several cars, and emergency rescue workers were able to rescue nine passengers in the flood.

ISNA news agency writes: "The water swept away two cars, a Peugeot and a Pride, and their occupants have disappeared."

Several cities in Kerman province, including Golbaf, Mahan, Shahdad, and Kerman, have witnessed severe flooding, and during the flood, six employees of the Golbaf Kerman Electricity Department lost their lives while providing aid to the flooded areas of Kerman. The team was dispatched to the area on Monday to connect electricity to the affected villages, but no one knew about them.

The bodies of the workers were found in the Hormak area of ​​Golbaf. The CEO of the Kerman Red Crescent Society said that two air rescue teams were present at the scene with the help of a helicopter and sniffer dogs.

Mojtaba Khalidi, spokesman for Iran's Emergency Services, announced that 11 people have been injured in weather-related incidents in the past 24 hours. Two of the injured were injured by lightning.

Khalidi added that the number of victims is nine; six died in Golbaf, Kerman, and three in Ardakan.

Mehdi Valipour, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization, announced that assistance was provided to 148 citizens caught in the flood. He stated that the assistance included draining water from houses, removing cars, and distributing food, blankets, and tents to the flood victims.
